The proliferation of littered plastic bags is an environmental catastrophe. So, do your part and get a half dozen re-usable bags; then REMEMBER TO BRING THEM EVERY TIME THAT YOU GO GROCERY SHOPPING. And, if ever you purchase something small enough to carry or put in your pocket but don't have a bag handy, tell them that you don't need a bag. If told that you have to have a bag, simply say, "I won't buy it if I have to have a bag."
